SHORT COURSE/WORKSHOP: INTRODUCTION TO LINKAGE AND ASSOCIATION ANALYSIS OF DISEASE AND QUANTITATIVE TRAITS

Monday August 27th (pm) to Wednesday August 29th 2007
Cost: $110 per person. This includes computer costs, lunches and teas and coffees. Registration for the workshop is through the Genemappers website: http://www.ccm.com.au/genemappers/

The Genetic Epidemiology laboratory of the Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR) will teach a short (2 day) workshop/course on linkage and association analysis of complex traits to coincide with the 6th Australian Human Gene Mapping conference later that week . The focus of the course will be on computer practicals using standard software packages. The teaching faculty includes Dr. David Duffy, Dr. Dale Nyholt, Dr. Naomi Wray, Dr. Stuart Macgregor and Dr. Allan McRae. This introductory course is tailored towards PhD students and postdocs who are assumed to have some prior knowledge of genetics and statistics.
