WoDaRC had been held annually since 2017. It was only international conference in Australia to be successfully delivered during the peak-pandemic years of 2020 and again in 2021. The 2020 edition was the first to be presented as a hybrid conference, offering a high-quality and immersive virtual experience for off-site delegates, which included options for remote delegates to participate in discussions and questions.

• The 2020 edition was attended by 550 physical and over 400 virtual delegates;

• CCM provided management services to every aspect of the conference and associated exhibition;

• CCM’s ConferCast system, which utilises TV-standard equipment and broadcast technologies to facilitate remote delegate engagement was first deployed at this conference, with immense success;

• Several exhibitors were not able to travel to the conference. For these exhibitors CCM arranged construction, fit out and set up of their exhibits and even staff to operate their displays during the conference;

• CCM’s Premium App provided virtual exhibit spaces for all exhibitors and facilitated instant video communications between physical and virtual delegates and exhibitors;

• CCM developed comprehensive protocols required at the time to comply with government rules pertaining to gatherings during the pandemic. These protocols became a template for many future conferences and events.
